Through its vast medical services, expert staff, progressive medical technology and country-wide network facilities, Emirates Hospital, an Emirates Healthcare Company, aims to provide a consistent, cultivating world of health, catering to the real-time medical needs of patients, in a cost-effective way.
Emirates Hospital Anesthesiology practice offers full continuum of perioperative care for patients undergoing surgery. While your case may be handled by one of our experienced specialist doctors, be assured that the team of Emirates Hospital will continue to oversee your care throughout.
A recent study presented at the 2015 European Society of Anesthesiology meeting in Berlin, Germany found that female smokers required 38 percent more anesthesia than non-smokers, and 17 percent more than passive smokers. Cigarette smoke is known to mess up respiratory function while under anesthesia, which interferes with the patient’s tolerance for pain medication.”
The Emirates Hospital team takes ownership of your care, monitoring your complete patient journey from initial diagnostics and advice to successful treatment whilst providing a personal service and continuity of care at the highest standards you expect and deserve.
What We Provide
‘Our expert team of anaesthesiologists take total care of the surgical patients before, during and after surgery and are dedicated to the relief of their pain’.
Our Anaesthetists are experts in all 3 types of anaesthetic procedures – local, regional and general:
- Local Anaesthesia: We numb a small part of the body for minor procedures. For example, you may get a shot of medicine directly into the surgical area to block pain. You may stay awake during the procedure
- Regional Anaesthesia: We block pain to a larger part of your body. You may also get medicine to help you relax or sleep. Our experts administer both types – Peripheral Nerve Blocks and Epidural / Spinal Anaesthesia
- General Anaesthesia: You may get some anaesthetics through a vein (intravenously, or IV), and you may breathe in some anaesthetics. With general anaesthesia, you’re unconscious and you don’t feel pain during the surgery
Our expert team assesses a patient on several parameters such as past and current health, type of surgery, and results of blood tests and ECG tests; before deciding on the type of anaesthesia to be administered to a patient.
Availing and administering anaesthesia before your surgery at Emirates Healthcare gives you a true appreciation of what personal care is all about.
